Yoga therapy is a therapeutic approach to yoga that is individualized, and meets the client where they are, at that moment, with a practice that is tailored to the individual. These needs may be to support wellness in the face of health challenges such as various diseases, diabetes, heart disease, low back pain, digestive problems, depression, insomnia, stress, migraines, yoga injuries, anxiety, an orthopedic joint injury, chronic pain, and/or and health issue that affects the client.

The client’s needs may be to support wellness in a preventative role, as yoga therapy can be effective for maintaining health and wellness in someone without any obvious health issues.

Yoga therapy focuses on the whole person, not just their physical condition. It acknowledges the multidimensional nature of the human being and addresses the person on all levels, the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions. This integrative approach to health and wellness results in overall enhanced well-being of the body, mind, and spirit.
